What is Theta?

Theta brainwaves oscillate at 4–8 Hz — the frequency your brain produces during deep meditation, REM sleep, and the moments just before you drift off. They are the gateway between the conscious and subconscious mind.

In theta state, the inner critic goes quiet. Habitual thought patterns dissolve. The nervous system down-regulates stress hormones and the brain enters a highly receptive, creative state that researchers call "twilight consciousness."
